The most ambitious BUTR group ride ever undertaken — my first international journey on the bike. Mumbai across the central plains to Indore, Kanpur, Basti, then the Sunauli border crossing into Nepal. Pokhara, the sacred Muktinath at 3,710m, Kathmandu, Chitwan National Park safari, and the long return through Lucknow, Jhansi and home.
All BUTR riders converge in Mumbai. Convoy out via Nashik. Sleep Indore. Brotherhood formed at the first dhaba dinner.
Through MP into UP. Kanpur — industrial city on the Ganges.
Through Lucknow, into eastern UP. Basti — last stop before international crossing.
Cross Sunauli border. Carnet papers + bike insurance. First time taking the bike to a foreign country. Climb to Pokhara — lakeside city beside Annapurna range.
Hard off-road day through Beni, Tatopani, Kagbeni. Kali Gandaki gorge. Reach Muktinath (3,710m) — sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists.
Same hard road back. Tougher in some sections downhill on loose rock. Phewa Lake sunset on return.
Prithvi Highway. Winding mountain road. Thamel district by evening.
Descend to terai plains. Chitwan — Royal Bengal Tiger, one-horned rhino territory. Elephant safari. Tharu cultural evening.
Exit Nepal via Sonauli/Bhairahawa. Back in India. Re-enter Basti.
Lucknow — Nawabi capital. Tunday kababs, biryani, chikan kurta hunting.
Through Kanpur bypass into Bundelkhand. Jhansi — Rani Lakshmibai's fort.
Final stretch — usually split into 2 days. Through Sagar, Bhopal, Indore, Nashik. International ride complete ✓
